Default Blacks

I dont recall seeing as many pictures and reports of black snapper being caight as we have seen this year. Have I been overlooking them or are there more being reported?

I tore them up last two times I went. Just have to hope they get chummed up. Check my two treads on the offshore reports from last Thursday and a week before that. Pics are included.

The last time I went we had them chummed up to the surface and could, if you were quick enough, pick out the ones to catch. We were at the I-10 Bridge Rubble West of the pass and were not anchored over the rubble. We were anchored well upstream on top of sand bottom. Fish the fish, not the wreck.

we chum them up pretty regular but seem to have a hard time catching more than one or two. Seems the reds get the bait before the blacks can and when the blacks do bite they break the light line we have to use just to make them bite. I know theres plenty of them I just dont remember seeing so many posts showing folks catching them in the past. Maybe its just a result of the red snapper regs.
