Default Bait fishing at the destin sea bouy

Third time I have seen cigar minnows at the bouy and they won’t hit the sabkikis... I noticed other boats having the same issue , we got hard tails but they were few and far between the massive bait balls of cigars I saw. I was out there at 0800 is anyone else having this kind of trouble? First time it’s been hard to catch bait for me especially when I can see them, thanks

Size 6 tsunami fluro sabikis. Cast in front of the school and let it swing back through them. They are more finicky when they are on top then when they are on the bottom though.

Hard tails are by far the best live bait for AJ’s right now. I would stick with them if you can catch um. We are having trouble with catch cigs as well but really don’t need them if you got live hardtails and frozen cigs, menhaden, and whole squid. My 2 cents worth.

Go to Academy sports and buy a (2 jig speck rig with both jigs white for $.99 cents. Hardtails eat um up every time. Troll them at 6 to 7 knots back out of prop wash. Troll along pass just inside the deep water where it meets the shoal on either side.
