tim would you believewe had no live bait. needless to say no report. for some reason(lack oftime) we thought we would be able to fish some up at the fishing spot. didn't work tailfisher did catch one small bait fish. idropped him downand fish on undersized reef donkey. we did catch some keeper triggers andsome lane snapper :hungry with the squid and menhadeni froze a couple months back. wife said it was time to clean the freezer. highlight of the trip. tailfisher hooks a hungry dolphin and i mean he ate the snapper and got hooked(circle hook). he shoot out of the water around 20-30 foot away form us straight up into the air had to be 20 foot up. 2 and 3 times in a row. after 3 times im thinking we are going to go down because if he hitsthe boat its all over. he looked as big as my boat. you could see the hook and the lead hanging out of his mouth every time he jumped.he stopped for a wile then we could see him doing the same thing about a mile away form us. cool site to see. we got us a cool show and luckily he did not hit the boat:banghead any way back to the live bait thing..... it is a must!

Heck yeah live bait is theonly way to catch em up thistime of the year. That sucks he got off should have stuck him with the flying gaff we could envited your dad and had a cook out like he said he had with all that grouper. [ joking] No that would have been pretty cool to see though . I guess the porpoise are getting more and more hungry out there with no fishing pressure, they are so used to catching exausted snapper from all our culling that they dont know how to catch it for themselves anymore. Oh well less porpoise means more snapper and grouper get to make back down to the bottom For us next year . horrible cycle. We'll see you soon Bruce. TIM
