Default AJ's today

Well the plan was to get a few live bait around the jetties and/or Massachusetts and then head to Meek, Tex and try to entice an AJ to bit. Didn't really care what size just wanted something other than a white trout or red fish tugging on the line. Launched at Sherman around 8am. Dang it seems like the wind is blowing more than it should be. NOAA has the 42040 buoy wave height at 2.6ft. When we hit the cut can see all the white caps in the bay. Decide to pass up the jetties and try for some bait at the 3 barges. It's rough in the pass but this is expected as well as the shallow area to the east of the pass. After about 3 miles of going right into it and getting into a little deaper water (40 feet) things are no better. Sea running 3 and four foot and only spaced about 15 20 feet apart. The wind is howling. I'm getting too old and there are too many good days for this $$it. I've been in worse and we could of made but made a u-turn headed back. Poked around the jetties to see if anything that looked like sheephead showed up on the bottom machine. Did not see anything that looked promising. So it's back to the white trout.

I left Sherman Cove about 930 only to turn around 6-7 miles out. It just got worse the farther we went out. A good solid 4' seas out there when we decided to turn around.

I think the SE winds are a little stronger than they thought they'd be. Of all the winds I hate SE winds when it comes to fishing!

LOL! I don't think it's anything about being a wimp! It's simple, we live here so we can pick and choose the days we go out unlike the tourists!

We also went out. We only made it about 2 miles out when we decided to turn around. Went to the old fort pickens pier with no luck. Then off to the 3mb where it was white trout and croakers.
