Default St Marks area. Big Bend.

Justin and I got on the water around 8pm. Ran into a bunch of reds on the way out and tried to catch one but they wouldn't have anything to do with our baits.

Got to the first spot, put the trolling motor down and went a few feet. Out from under the boat comes a 14" flounder. Guess the prop wash spooked him out of the grass and he went to our lights. Real quick we are on the board. About 20 feet later another 14" fish hiding good. Continued to work this spot and when we were done we had 5 fish. Decided to work a certain spot that looked good the first time and Justin taps me and asks me to move the boat to the left a little. There laying in the grass is a good flounder. Justin pokes him and after the water clears we see the gig has hit the stomach of the fish and some of the stomach was sticking out. Justin flips the fish in the boat, it lands on the cooler, flops and is now back in the water. We stopped and looked but could not see the fish. We do a circle and work back to the spot we lost him. Justin taps me again and points to a light colored spot in the dark grass. It was the stomach of the fish showing. Once again Justin puts the gig in the fish and brings him in the boat. This time he doesn't get away.

We leave this spot and try another spot. After much trolling we only have one fish to show for it. Decided to hit a few spots on the way back to the landing.

First spot i come in hot with the boat. We get on the bow, push the boat out of the grass and under us are 2 nice flounder beds, but no flounder in them. We work this spot and pick up a couple fish.

Hit the last spot of the night and picked up 2 more.

Water was alot clearer than what I'm use to at Shell Point.

Back to the ramp and on our way home at 1:45am.

Finished the night with 11 flounder, a few mullet and a sheephead. Best fish was Justins at 2 pounds 10 ounces.
