Default Still Trying to get Surf Slam...

Fished solo from 4:30 till sunset east of Portofino. At first, the sargassum was messing everything up, taking my line down the beach and making me recast and clean my lines for the first hour and a half. But the wind died down, tide started going out a bit faster and it cleared up enough to actually fish.

I had 2 reds on at the same time and I tried to fight both for a minute, but that wasn't working so I tried to boss one in quickly on 12lb test. I put a bit too much pressure on it... broke off. Luckily, the second red was still waiting for me. It created a bit of a mess with my lines and I was out of action with just one line in water for a bit. Then the pompano started running while I was re-rigging... and it was 1-2-3-4, one after another. All that in the same hour. All fish caught on freshly raked sand fleas. Cant help thinking I could have caught limit if I had 3 lines in. But it was super fun and beautiful out there this eve!!!

Great job! I fished Navarre Beach between 5-8pm. Only caught 2 pomp, biggest was 16.5. It seems that folks are catching more fish from pcola beach to perfidy. We had beach replenishment last year and a red tide killed most of our sand fleas. I think I may head your way tomorrow night.

It's pretty awesome when it gets all fast and furious like that.
