Default Skunked - P'cola Beach 022009

Caught the low tide this morning at Sunrise and stuck with it until about 1. Got the only pole dance about 7:30. Something snapped (or cut) my 20# Fluorocarbon leader, and that was that. Otherwise, the fish just weren't there. Off shore, small surf and crystal clear water. If they were moving in close I could have seen them.I did see a lot of shore birds early, but they were out on the second sand bar. Nothing in close.

The day wasn't a total loss. Ibagged about 4 dozen sand fleas without getting soaked. Froze a few to get started another day.

I fished with live fleas on double and triple Pompano rigs, florescent orange and green attractors. I also tried a mullet head on a stinger rig trailed by a fresh cut strip. If I was a Red Fish...

Maybe sunset tomorrow?

Glad I didn't go. I planned on giving it a try but it was to damn cold when I checked the temp. Wish the weather would make up it's mind!
