Water is beautiful ,flat , clean. No bites no site of fish. Maybe next time. Keep on trying. Good luck my fellow fisherman.

I went to JB on Saturday. Got out of the truck and walked to where I could see up and down the beach. Loads of fisherman, would have had to elbow in. Flat water. Beautiful water really. No action anywhere. Walked back to the truck and left. On Sunday, I looked at a beach cam and saw it was most likely going to be a repeat of Saturday. So I did something else.

Is it just me or does the pompano bite go ice cold with any sort of north wind?

I was out there at Ft Morgan saturday, got a late start, fished 5 hours starting at 9am...1 big black drum nada pompano. Ive had a string of bad luck lately as ive been skunked on pompano the past 3 times out, heck i caught more pompano in february than i have in march and april combined.

I don't do well under flat conditions. But I try to fish cuts in the bars, and there is no outflow under flat conditions. Maybe they are just not within reach of the beach or I am fishing in the wrong spots.
