Default Pomps and reds 10/15

Actually it was only one red, but Telem Piscus (Jon) and I got out this AM for a follow up to Mondays trip with pretty much the same results. Jon still caught a metric ton of catfish but he also caught all the pomps ,three, and was babysitting my rod while I ran to the truck for a cooler to put HIS pomp in when a slot red hit it. Technically he caught it but I kept it anyway.

We were down past portofino, there were plenty of fleas for bait. The current was kind of strong from the east, we used between 4-6oz of lead on the gear and the fish were inside the 2nd bar. The action was pretty steady if you counted the catfish, when the pompano came it was only one bite at a time. Nothing too hectic but enough to hang around all morning.

Great morning again. Steady bite and a good relaxing morning.

Here are my Pomps for the morning. Nothing spectacular. They were all in the 13" range.
