Default Pompano Beach Destin 5/7

Hit the beach about 9 with 6 rods, super calm and I picked one with a jig after seeing the school within 5 minutes. We stayed for about 4 hours and kept 4, let a short one go.

Me and one of the guys waded down about a half mile and caught lady fish to our hearts content, easily 30+ with bluefish and hardtails mixed in. Lost our jigs to a school of Spanish.

Nearly made a trip to the hospital after a lady fish wedged a treble into the joint of my ring and middle finger.

Very nice.

Easiest to disgorge those hooks from your finger if you chill your finger with ice first. Just apply ice directly to the hooked location until its numb. Makes the removal much more tolerable.

We were so far down the beach I didn't want to walk back to the cooler for ice! I'll remember that trick though for sure

I was surrounded by kids so the funnest part was staying quiet lol, we unhooked the lady fish, cut the rear loop of the gotcha to free the hook, then I had someone push my down my skin while I pulled the hook back through the other side of my finger.

Cut the tip/Barb off and backed it around, fell right out!
