Default Pickens sound side 7-30

Got out around 1pm and near the rocks armed with 15 lb braid and 12 lb fc liter with 1/0 j hook on a light action rod/reel. Few guys out casting some ly's near the rocks.

Hooked on a (tiny) but brave live shrimp and sent him to infiltrate mangrove waters. 1st hook up small pinfish...not gonna play this game.

Removed small led weight I had on there and free lined a second brave bastard. Mission success, hooked my first mangrove and brought it in..12 inches..good enough for me.

Anyhow, this continued until my girlfriend and I managed 6 small mangroves from the rocks. Got hung up a few times but not too bad.

Snorkeled the waters and saw lots of mangrove hiding spots and crab.

Made my way to the pier once I got bored and casted the gotcha a dozen or so times with no signs of life.

After a good sunburn and fun day of catching fish called it quits around 5.

Biggest mangrove was around 15in or so.

I work at west Florida in the ER.

Yep I didn't see any bigger then 15 inches or so but they are delicicious. 6 of them filled two of us up and then some. They are very picky eaters so the less the line the better. I was free lining live shrimp right over the rocks and let then current take it.

Be sure to pull em out quick so they don't dive into their hiding spots
