Default Pickens pompano

So I've been planning on this lil trip for the past few days since the weather was supposed to finally be nice. So I'm up by 6, get the truck loaded up, and BOOM! Locking the keys in the truck leads us to roadblock number one. So two hours of waiting and $35 later I'm debating even going still. Well I figure I should so I head out. I get to Pickens and its beautiful. Crystal clear water, light surf, and no wind. My nosy self asks around some just to get a feel for what's being caught and its just what I didn't wanna hear: lady fish, rays, and one couple had a baby hammerhead. I decided to at least try it out since I drove way out there, and had nothing for about an hour. Well I'm about to pack up when the heavens smiled upon me and the first rod gets hit. Turns out to be a really nice pompano! Run to the truck for the cooler and come back to the other rod doubled over! Pomp number two hits the cooler and I bait back up for more. Couldn't even get the second line wet before there's another pomp on the first one. All in all it turned out to be the best pomp trip I've had to date with four keepers and two that got away. The past few weeks have been a lot of trial and error trying to learn how to get the hang of catching those delicious little bastards. But it's paid off, and can't wait to get back out there and try for more!
