Default OB Flounder this afternoon

My wife and I went to check on some turtle nests and I figured I'd kill something while I was there. Got six Flounder in a pretty short period and had several smaller Flounder follow my lure up to the rod tip. I actually got to see a lot of the strikes today because of the water clarity. Going to go again in the morning.

I only kept two today because the average size is still pretty small. The two I kept were around 15 inches and the other 4 were probably 13 inches. I'll let me grow a bit.

Nice! You've got them locked down!

I'm headed out again this morning. I'll try to catch up!

Great to see the Flounder are in on the Beach.. I've been hitting the docks in East OB every morning, getting at least 2 good sized ones. This morning hit 3 in an hour after dropping the kids off at school.

You ever try the GULP Mud Minnows (White)? thats what I use w/ 1/4oz jig head.

You fishing the Beach East of the Pass or West?
Thanks, Brian

I hop around location wise and rarely fish the same beach more than two trips in a row. The last couple trips were in the same location though which is West of the Pass.

I personally am not a fan of Gulp. Yes, it does catch fish, but I do not believe it catches any more fish targeted species than unscented baits that are worked correctly.

I use the pearl white most of the time, but if the water is stained I'll use chartreuse/gold or glow.

Hey Chris, what are using rod and reel wise to catch flounder in surf? What size of reel and the specs on your rod? Line?
