Default Navarre Beach West 11/4/17

I'm convinced again you gotta be out early these days. Went out Wed afternoon and caught a tiny pompano, a small whiting and fought sunbathers for real estate.
This morning was a different story. Got set up by 615 and the catfish started messing right away. By time the sun came up the pompano chased them away and it was game on. First bite at 650 then it turned off completely at 8. Stayed out till 1130 without so much as another catfish.
Couldn't ask for better weather than this!

Well dang Russ you're right. I just had to look up the difference. And I was thinking my pompano was misshapen.
I will tell you he was delicious though.

Nice catch. I think tide movement has more to do with the bite than time of day...

That could be, but your chart doesn't jive with mine. I'm showing low tide just after 5am. Yours looks like it's around 8.
I've been trying to figure out a pattern to the bites but the pieces aren't coming together quite yet. I've been thinking it has more to do with sunrise, but can't say that conclusively.

One day soon, I will get out there early in the morning with you! I love seeing you bring in the Pomps and feed your family.

You have to be careful because you can easily get an intracoastal tide instead of beachfront. I think the 8 am number was right for low tide. I dont trust magicseaweed because it gives incorrect tides.

Default More tide charts

I've always found this one to be reliable for Pensacola. I'm just now realizing you were fishing Navarre, too...http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/locations/4646.html

Here's Navarre - http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/locations/4078.html
