Default Navarre Beach Before it gets bad 4-26-18 report

Got a couple of Pompano between 11-3pm today, fished fresh shrimp on my favorite single rig called, “Frank’s Rig.” It’s named after my father who passed away a few years ago. It’s a hard shell sand flea fly that I tip with fresh shrimp. I fished single rigs to navigate through the June Grass. It’s here in Navarre now but it is still quite “fishable.” The single rig sits on the bottom and the bait drifts freely which helps to minimize June Grass accumulation at the bait. Here are today’s pomp’s!

Good job pulling some fish out from in between all the holiday beach goers. We left at noon and it was getting crazy!

Nice catch!!! We are heading down this weekend after the storms. Do you think it’ll wash some of the June grass out or make it worse?

June Grass is hard to predict, my guess is that the storm pushes a bunch in. Another concern is, I do not know if fresh water from the storm causes it to grow more. It could change the salinity of the water and spur on growth. Check www.junegrassreport.com as you get closer to coming down. It’s been manageable thus far at Navarre beach and horrific at others beaches.
