Default Langdon Beach 3-28-17 POMPS!

Good day, but mostly in the early morning. 3 keeper pomps (which we released) and some oddballs. The striped burrfish love fishbites; often nibble it away. Fishbites and shrimp.

We went well prepared; 2 mallets!

Black hammer!

Two hammers, just in case the white one isn't adequate!

I'm thinking about getting a new hammer tote'er . Just don't have room on the cart. I think that I might have found the perfect tote'er.

Good job, and kudos for catch and release if you don't use them.

Wives just don't understand how heavy hammers get by the end of the day.

Maybe your wife would let you utilize the "lease" option on that tote'er?

Thanks, guys.
Went back out today (Wednesday March 29th). I went early, and that was the key. I was there well before sunrise, and it was barely bright enough to rig the lines.

BEFORE I COULD BAIT THE SECOND ROD I had the first pomp. Had the second before I rigged the 3rd. GO EARLY!!

I caught 6 pomps and 3 striped burrfish. Four of the 6 were shorts. Biggest was 15". Lady next to me hooked a big ray, broke it off, then snagged it again, her original hook bent and released, and she got both rigs back! Crazy.

Caught most of the pomps on peeled shrimp. The burrfish seem to like fishbites. Caught just one pomp on a sand flea.
