Default GS - 8/21, 8/22 - Ladies, Blues, Whiting

Nothing to brag about other than tight lines. Went out Friday evening and hit the gulf side of west beach pass. Throwing paddle tail flukes and my new Matrix Shads'. Trying to keep them on the bottom but the seaweed wasn't cooperating. Lady fish were in abundance but did manage to pick up a little 10" flounder and a couple decent sized whiting.

Saturday morning (today) out there again early, gorgeous clear water with the incoming tide. Lady fish were thick and no matter where I walked, or holes thrown in, they were ridiculous. Saw a few small pomps and retied a buck tail, more of the same. Ladies were flat pissing me off. Finally got tired of fighting and put a straw w/treble hook over a steel leader and 3/16 sinker. Ripped through the surf and if there were one, it was 5+ rushing it. But hey, had some good fights and lost count at 15.

Wife wanted to head back this evening so we hit it again around 1700 to let the kiddo play. Outgoing tide, tons of bait but no matter where you threw it was ladies and blues but did pick up a couple more whiting. It got to the point that I was using the cheapest Bass Pro twist tail grubs in any color. Finally after tearing the fourth one off I started ripping just the jig head w/nothing on across the surface. They killed it. Sometimes it was three back to back.

I'm done, shoulder is sore and was hoping to walk the beach searching for reds or specs but at least it was fun.

Keep at it bud. Specks, Reds and Flounder are bonuses. If the line stretched, the job was done right.
