Default Ft Pickens 3/23/2017 Pomps!!

Fished Ft Pickens with my girlfriend yesterday. Got there around 11 am. Fished till 1 pm with only one hit and no hook up. We considered calling it a day and doing something else. Then the bite turned on! In the next hour we caught 7 really nice pompano. We had to pack up at 2 so I could make it home to coach my kids soccer teams but we definitely left a hot bite. There was a guy fishing next to us about 50-70 yards down the beach and he was not catching anything. I walked down to him and told him about my spot before leaving. Also gave him some fish bites as he was fishing shrimp. I caught all of the pompano on pink shrimp fish bites and orange/white sand flea fish bites.

Was a great fishing day!

Fishbites are a synthetic bait. Looks like a thick ribbon. I cut it in about 1 inch strips. Only second time using it. You can find it next to the soft baits/gulp shrimp bags.

Good luck!
