Default Destin surf report 7-18

Got out on the beach around 5:30 this morning .
The whiting were eating sand fleas and peeled shrimp pieces on basically every cast . I got one blue on a 1/2 ounce silver spoon.
I didn't take pics and released them all.
Now I need to find a decent place to wade in the bay this afternoon to try for some specs and reds.

It looked pretty murky when I came across the 331 bridge yesterday .
It isn't going to clear up soon either from the looks of the Choctawhatchee river. Even up around home where the river originates it's muddy and almost out of the banks.

Going to be staying in San Destin in 3 weeks (please hurry up already!!). Any signs of June Grass? Looking forward to just wading in the surf to fish. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

Thanks.

Surprisingly there was almost zero grass .
I'm on my way over right now to do it again.
