Default Blues/Reds East side Portofino

Went to east side of Portofino at about 0830tried for pomps, but instead landed a huge Blue and a 26" Red. Surf was rough but otherwise great to be out fishing. Peeled shrimp and cut bait (mullet) were used. Not bad for just a few hours of fishing.Other guys at the beach caughta fewpomps at least over 20" andbunches of huge blues larger than the one below.

Which side is best to fish? Past the condos or the westside by Ft Pickens? I don't do too bad on Pickens end so I've never bothered to try the other side.

Depends on where you park at Pickens and walk.It could be a long walk to the beach or shorter. At East of Portafinoyou can park on the side road and the beach is there very short walk. But any whereon East Portafino is great fishing.

Oh yea. Excellent size to throw on the grill and into a glass pan with lemon juices, chopped green onions, qtrd. cherry tomatoes, salt to taste, and some kick ass red or green hot peppers. Don't forget the hot bed of rice and kikkoman soy sauce on top of the rice. You would think you'resome where on the West Pacific Islands.Better than "Plywood steak".
