Well, went out today with an arsenal of knowledge from this forum about the pompano and a whole bunch of confidence. Got to the beach around 1030-11ish and caught a ton of sand fleas and started soaking them.

Sat there for a while, pulled in my line to check my bait. Yup, still there and no damage to them. Put some new ones on and tried again.

Had a few guys come up asking me how to catch some pompano. I informed him he surely was asking the wrong guy and would have better luck asking one of the sunbathers or landscapers. I looked over his rig which was a popping cork and hook. So, being the nice guy I am, I rigged him up with some hooks and weight, some sand fleas and told him where I thought he Should be fishing (between the sandbars). He asked if I minded if he fish by me, I said no problem. We wade out and cast.

Get back to the beach, his rod bends over. Mind you I have been out here for hours at this point, and he pulls in not one but TWO pompano at on time. I was a little discouraged in myself but knew at this point they were there!!

Run back out there and set out lines again, he keeps getting hit and we were fishing the same set up?!?! Ugh lol so I am getting tired at this point and decide I'm about to head in when, bam, my rod goes off!! I start reeling and notice its not much of a fight. As it would happen I pulled in a lady fish. Go figure hahah oh well.

All in all, I can't complain! It was a beautiful day and the water was great! Oh the guy also have me the pomps, he had like 15 people with him and said it wouldn't even begin to make a meal for them. So like I said, goo day!

Haha will do. Blue mountain is east of Destin. Do you know where seaside, grayton, sea grove, watercolor or any of that is? It's in te middle of all that. In Santa rosa beach.
