Default 7/19 Pickens report

LP and I went out to try and hook up with some hammers on the sound side of Pickens. The water was calm the moon was full and recent stories of hammers landed had us ready to brawl! The evening started a bit slow My 9/0 was the first to go with a little teaser run that did not last long. The fish grabbed the back end of a bloody bobo carcus and swam away with a free meal. After a couple more hours with no action we checked our baits and they were missing or picked apart so we piled more bait on and LP jumped in the yak and took off running out the 12/0. I could hear him yell something to me but the wind blowing through my dumbo size ears made it hard to hear him. When he returned to the beach I found out what he said was A BIG HAMMERHEAD just ran into the yak!!! For most that would signal that its time to call it quits but not LP he grabbed my leader and hauled ass to try and hand feed my bait to the Hammer. After running around dragging my bloody bait behind the yak with no luck he dropped my bait and returned to shore. I decided to try and float some bait and went down to the rock point just west of the pier. I was not there for 5 minutes when I heard LP yelling for me. I turned around just in time to see the glow stick attached to LPs line shoot towards the water. I bolted down the beach to find LP brawling what I hope to be our first Hammer. After a good fight we see the beast and its not a Hammer its another big Bull shark, 6'8" to be exact. We fished until about 7:30 with no luck and left Pickens happy that we did not get skunked. I will post a pic of the beast when I get help from my kids downloading them from the camera. UGLY

Got a lot more nerve than me. I'd have peed myself and headed back in if a big anything hit my yak.
