Default Telescopeing surf rod? Anyone use them?

I put this old Penn Surf fishing reel on a telescoping rod I get from Walmart so I could keep it in my truck in case I found myself at the beach with some time to kill. Anybody use one before? And if so are they any good?

They had them in 7 and 9 foot lengths. Want to try it out this weekend.

I like keeping it pointed in the right direction.

I build some for myself that I really like. They can be a lot easier to deal with as long as they are good quality

You build the telescoping rods? I would love to see/buy one of those . Would you post some pics of ones you have made? I'm gonna go ahead and assume that for $19 from Walmart quility won't be in the words used to describe it, lol.

I use a couple of 12 &13 footers , that I bought from J&M . But I use them to fish for sheepshead. They work great for me when I am shore fishing around rocks.

the ones i used and saw in japan were good quality. most here dont have many guides and cause pressure points and have horrible curves.
