Default Shark fishing

Hello all, I am heading down to gulf shores on the 25th. I am staying in the beach close to the inlet to little lagoon. I would really like to catch some black tip sharks and was wondering if I would be ok using an open spinning reel. I don't watchnt any monsters but just able to handle the small to medium sized. I have included a pic of my reel and pole. IMG_3860.PNG IMG_2977.jpeg any advice will help. Thanks.
