Default Sept vs may surf fishing?

Going to try a lil surf fishing in sept this yr instead of late May. Any real differences( species or rig wise)? Guessing maybe a few more reds and less pompano? Hopefully bigger whiting. Really enjoy lure chunking over set rod fishing but I'll do whatever it takes.

That doesn't sound too promising.

Sharks and Redfish in October is my experience of a couple three trips. No September experience. Yet a noob after 30 years of now-and-then trips, from Indian Pass to Fort Morgan, yet learning.

I'm SURE there are more regular surf guys who know a lot more than me around here.

My next trip is May, because may happens before October and if I don't get to fish the surf soon, I'm going to implode.
