Default Q: New sand...Any pomps???

At Holiday Isle in Destin, we're getting a lot of sand pumped in for beach restoration...... so, all of the beach will be new sand brought in from about 60 ft. depth.....

The question is whether and how this increased beach affects the population of sand fleas..... AND, if there are no sand fleas, can we expect that no pomps will be there?????

TIA for knowledgeable replies....

U r in for a treat. The sand fleas will be covered up, thus killed. Coccinos as well. Beach restoration has ruined Pensacola beach. It has a nasty drop off at first that causes drownings, Sand color goes darker than white. Bait fish avoid it. Water clarity goes to dirty fast as silt is released from it. Sand bar starts moving out as do the fish. I see no positive use for it other than beloved high rises. I dont know any true honest fisherman that has any good words about it. Good luck. U can be testimony in the future. I hear Navarre bch is getting it too. SAD SAD SAD.

Plus it seems like the sand has a lot of small shells in it which the sand fleas seem to avoid.
I hadn't heard that about Navarre getting renourishment too.
