Default pompano blues.

I am mostly a pier guy but this spring I got into pompano fishing key word fishing I could never catch one I caught plenty of bull reds and stingrays the size of coffee tables. I did figure out for the most part how to catch sand fleas and I knew from reading that you fish the cuts or troughs that run perpndicular to the beach. So im thinking its my rig. I used a 3 way swivel with a 2 or 3 ounce weight and a small black mustad 4x hook. Can anybody tell me anything besides that I have bad luck ? Thanks

Not sure what you mean by a three way swivel but the less hardware you have, the better off you are. I usually use a simple two drop mono rig. The only hardware I have is one swivel and two hooks. This may help. Others may have similar advice.

What he said - a two hook drop rig - with knots rather than 3 way swivels - 20 lb flouro and 1/0 owner mutu light wire hooks - local tackle shops have ready made rigs - some folks like the small floats - the tackle shope near the beach can help with that also

+1 Sand fleas

chicken rig ... look it up on you tube there awsome for pomps and you can even tear a piece of a orange sponge and slide it up your hook and tip it off with a sand flea or shrimp
