Default New to Surf Fishing

Hello, I just moved to the Gulf Shores area and I will be living here until late August. I am new to saltwater fishing, but I would like to try my luck out in the surf. For starters, I have a Penn Pursuit 3 rod and reel combo, with the reel being a 4000 and the rod being 7 ft medium action. I have my reel spooled with 20 lb braided line. I am wanting to surf fish with artificial lures and use the rod I mentioned above for this purpose. I would like to target fish like redfish, speckled trout, flounder, spanish mackerel and pompano out in the surf. With that being said, what are some good lures to use for targeting these specific species?

Chris V at Sam's on Canal is also a great source of information. If you search his name on the forum he has some great information and advice.
