Need some advice
Been doing this fishing thing for a month or so now and haven't had any luck. It seems like I've tried every rig, bait, and method I can find but nothing works. I mostly fish on NAS because it's quite and no one else is around. I'm basically looking for some advice on the best rig and bait setup for fishing directly off the beach. I usually go out and sabiki a few pinfish and use them as bait because the little punks steal my shrimp, but I've had no luck with that. Tried a pompano rig with sand fleas also with no luck. Tried every hour of the day, no luck. Just looking to find out the best time to go out and setup to use and just stick with that. I know it will come with time and patience but I really need a fish to boost the confidence. Thanks in advance for the help.

I hear ya. So far this year, I've only gotten lucky twice during one day fishing at Ft. Pickens. Back there, 3mb, upper Escambia river, Gulf Of Mexico with a kayak, no matter what, I don't catch fish. I hopefully will have a 10' jon boat soon and will try again. I'll need to make sure there is plenty of flotation in case of getting swamped but it won't be any worse than the kayak was. I got dumped twice in about an hour just off shore in that thing. But I did like my kayak up until that episode.

Off the beach most people just use pomp rigs w/ shrimp or sand fleas... I haven't had much luck with the fleas either... But i have caught quite a few pomps and reds on shrimp out at Johnson's and Ft. Pickens... And every now and then a sheepshead or black drum and the occasional small shark on pomp rigs all during the day... At night all too often you will get swamped by catfish and get very tired of them VERY quickly... Thats when i throw out the big leaders and baits for sharks... And if you want to catch something just go freeline some live bait off of Bob Sikes bridge right now... Spanish are all over it... Hope this helps, good luck.
There's always a bigger fish to rip off...
