They have a wonderful pier there, try it. Or just visit and you can find out.

Ling, pompano, whiting and Spanish Mackerel are about the major spieces swimming about this time of year. LIng eat anything but most folks use lures, pompano like sandfleas or shrimp, whiting like shrimp, mackerel like lures or small minnows.

Good luck, let us know how you do.

Rick

Go by Half Hitch on Thomas Drive or even WalMart carries them and get a couple of double-drop leaders and some 3 or 4 oz pyramid sinkers. (depending on how rough the surf is) And some circle hooks, size 1, 2, 1/0, 2/0. I've used up to 1/0.
Tie the leader to your line and then put the hooks on the next two swivels. Then put the sinker on the lowest swivel. Get some sandlfeas (it's best to catch your own but frozen will work, or buy live from the shop) and some fresh-dead shrimp. You'll need a sand spike.
What type rod/reel are you using ?

12 to 15 lb mono or 20 to 30 lb braid get your rigs at halfhitch or build your own wallmarts suck bass pro may have something decent but i doubt it also i would recomend having 1 rod to cast a spoon or gotcha any 10 lb freshwater spinning or casting tackle will do just remember spray off those freshwater reels every day or they will be useless when u get home good luck
