Default Fish Bites

How are folks "applying" these to the hook? Do you just put it right through the middle and let it "dangle" or do you put the fat end through and then put the skinny in just a small amount to the tip of the hook to sort of hide the hook?

Thanks!

With a circle hook, I hook it through one end, with the point exposed.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume "we" end is the little end?

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like most are letting it "dangle." Perhaps that is why I didn't have much luck with them last year. Or it could have been all that grass too. Hopefully it isn't bad now as I'll be down next week.
