Default dauphin island fishing

Hello, I will be traveling down to Dauphin Island and staying from March 11-17. I was planning on doing some fishing but do not know what to expect. Anybody have any information on what will be biting at this time? Thank you

Boat or shorebound?

Mid March is prime time for sheepshead around just about anything growing barnacles.
Also, whiting in the surf along with maybe redfish, black drum and maybe even some speckled trout...

West End or East end?

there are rocks at each end, that would be a good place for sheepshead (live shrimp, hermit crabs or ghost shrimp).

Wadefish for speckled trout along sandbar dropoffs, topwater early & late in the day, sinking MirrOlure or MirrOdine during the day, or a grub on weighted jighead off the bottom.

Hope this helps!

I stayed there for a month a few years ago and enjoyed fishing the surf and pier. Lot's of mullet off the pier, and did pretty well with trout off the surf in the early morning. Thinking about going back there this year.
