Default Better Alternatives-Deeper Water?

Suggestions? Over the past week or so I've shore/surf fished a handful of spots from the beach, bay, and sound and it seems the fish have followed the baitfish into deeper water. Very disappointed. Starting to try some lures. Granted I usually target whiting or pomp's on the beach and did do well. The hardtail, hardhead, and even pinfish have disappeared, but my 4 yr old usually has fun with those. Its probably the past 2 cold fronts....

Now I need to find deeper water via bridge or shore. I'd like to find sheeps, reds, or specs and will try 3MB or BS. I live in Pensacola.

I hit up fort pickens last weekend did all right, it gets really deep really quick so it's great for surf fishing (I think?! I'm totally a beginner!!)
