Default Walking the dog along Mobile Bay's south shore...

The topwater bite was on fire early this morning. Hooked 4, landed 2 and had a bunch more blow up. The bigger one knocked the lure out of the water on its first attempt, missed it the second time and set both trebles on the third.

The one on top went 24" and 5lb 2oz, other one went 23" and 4lb 6oz.

That's awesome. My favorite type of fishing is anything topwater.

That's the first time I've ever had any real success on topwater.

Let me tell ya'll, I just thought catching trout under a light with big live baits was fun. Experiencing a 5 lb. trout explode on a topwater bait repeatedly at the crack of dawn is something to behold. About as much fun as I could have with my clothes on!

April is the best time to throw a topwater.... those big females are very aggressive. Nice trout!
