On the water at six a.m. Anchored at the train trestle at Mulat and started throwing a Gulp! shrimp under a cajun thunder.Pulled white trout and croakers 'til I got bored . Ran across to Mackey Cove and to try for some redfish using a Gulp! pogy on a redfish magik spinner bait. No reds but two short specks. Was running back to the boat ramp and saw about 2 dozen birds crashing the water. Got closer and a feeding frenzy was on, complete with an oil slick. For about 30-45 minutes it was non-stop ladyfish mixed with specks. All specks were short, but the ladyfish were a blast.Off the water by ten just beating the storm. Had the camera but too busy to take pics. Except for losing two topwater baits and one spinner to the ladyfish, it was a good morning. :letsdrink

Made that exact run a few times last year with the exact results, with exception of trolling a gulp jerk along the grass line on the way into AGlover and picked up a red.

Thanks,

Mark

That's a nice area to fish. I haven't been able to pull in any reds this time of year either. Looking forward to the fall when the big boys start to stack up again.

Good report,

Alex
