Default Report for 9/25 through 9/28

Sorry no pictures, was out wading so I couldn't carry the camera.

Been wade fishing a creek mouth in the upper bay for the past couple days on the good high/outgoing tide. Been catching lots of small spotted seatrout, reds, blues, ladyfish, jacks, croaker and flounder. Came back one more time this morning before work, took a buddy who doesn't get much chance to fish lately, he caught a nice 20inch flounder for dinner. Except for that one, all other fish have been released.

They are pretty much hitting anything I've been throwing at them. Topwater, diving plugs, gold spoons, and soft plastics. I've been starting with topwater early on then switching to deeper lures. Root-beer pattern plastics have been doing well, though I have a feeling any color would work so long as they can see it.

I out fished a boat yesterday that had been anchored at the mouth of the creek all morning. Sorry if that was anyone on this forum but I was kind of stuck fishing just that creek since I was on foot. Boats can pick up and move anywhere in the bay if they don't catch anything within a short time. I doubt that was anyone who regularly frequents this forum though, since they didn't seem to know what they were doing even after I told them what I was throwing and how I was working it. I don't mean to bad-mouth anyone since when I started I didn't know how to fish either.

I'm looking forward to the Fall run as bigger fish move back up towards the rivers. Hopefully it'll go nuts soon with this week's cold (aka "less hot") front moving in. It'll only get better from here on out.

Good luck,
