Default Redfish/Sheepies 30 Mar 09

Went out on the boat after work with my buddy Matt who is visiting from Arkansas and has been turkey hunting with me the last week. Got a few dozen shrimp and a 6 pack of beer and went out to one of my favorite spots (the one that wakerider doesn't believe holds any fish LOL). Got a few hits for a while and caught a few pins. Johnny Lawman shows upwith no less than 4 x Game Wardensin the same boat. After the try to figure out how to get upnext to me, I just throw them a line and hand them all of our documentation and show them all the gear before they can even ask (I've been through this once or twice before). One guysmoothly asks me if I have drinks in my cooler to prove there weren't any fish in there. They take off away from us and the bite actuallyheated up shortly after. I had 2 breakoffs (damn drag being off). Tied on again and finally had a good hookup and boated a 23" redfish. A few more missed fish and then Matt gets a 15" sheepshead. More bites but no fish landed and we ran out of shrimp. Tried some cut bait and some gulp before we got tired and called it quits just before sunset. Another great day on the water to cap Matt's fine day in the woods chasing gobblers.

Cheers-

Wish I could say the same, still had to work until the afternoon. Matt was on his vacation and spent all day in the woods. Kept yelling at me for having my drag too tight and breaking them off. Of course, I got to yell at him because he kept trying to set the hook like a bass fisherman. Would have posted pictures, but everyone was hungry so we just friend them up as soon as we got home.
