Default Really Cool Redfish Trip....Sight Fishing Too.

Yesterday (Sat) Morning I went down to Boggy Point to check the pilings for Flounder and when I got there Fish and Game was there so I didn't stop. I went on to the seawall on the west side of the pass. I walked down to the end of the seawall where the water is shallow enough to almost see bottom and there was a single Redfish on bottom, and it looked like he was looking for me. I cast a Connor Jig just past his path and bounced it across his path as he aproached. He turned and followed just a little way and eat. Good Red about 10lbish. About 15 minutes later a couple swim up both Studs over 20# each and I feed one of them, but luckily he spits before we settle in for a really long fight (8# mono). At the end of the short trip I hooked 8 and landed 6 of the eight, all released, the best part is they were all seen before I made a cast to any of them. I love that stuff. It was a really cools short trip, and sight fishing them made it 10 times better.

This is an easy place to fish without a boat, and if anyone is in the area it makes for a great fishing trip.

I think that is the best part, seeing the fish get fooled/tricked. I was actually tickled that one of the larger ones spit/unhooked the jig before I had a long fight with him. The take and seeing it is the climax of the whole deal, after that it is just a tug of war.
