I like mine, when they work. I've got three, all less than a year old in for repair right now. Two of them stopped reeling on consecutive days. I've always liked Quantum stuff, I've got an old Quantum Iron that I bought 15-20 years ago that I still use but I'm a little concerned about this new stuff. Hope to have them back next week, sent them in to Half-Hitch in Panama City in June.

I agree, I have been a Shimano guy and decided to try one of these and the reel locks up and won't reel worth a crap. I have never had my Shimano do this ever.... Do I need to do something special with the Quantum other than flush it out with fresh water after each use? This has happened 3 times since buying it this spring. My Shimano on the other hand is silky smooth as usual. Any help on care for the Quantum would be appreciated. WDE
