Default nice morning reds and trout

check out these interesting scar on the red must have been hit by a boat or something

finally figured out how to post pics so i guess ill add a report now i usually fishfor about an hour every morning on my way to work so i stopped by one of my favorite lights first cast as soon as my jig hits the water zzzzzzzz nice 30 1/2 " red couple cast later 16" trout next cast 32" red couple cast later 18" trout this whole time menhaden were flying from the water fish crashing all over the place i have never seen that many reds in one place at the same time so change over to a topdog 2nd cast bam the 261/2" red by this time im really pushing being late for work so i hurry and remove lure so i can get in one more cast and zzzzzzz this really nice trout leaving all those fish to go slave in the hot sun under a welding hood was extremely hard but gotta eat right

Sounds like you were in the bayou with all the menhaden you are talking about. Great report! I am going to have to give that a shot.

I caught a red with the same big dent in his back a few days ago. My guess was a blue heron or some other bird got a hold of him when it was little.

Thats what happened a bird hit it when it was a little guy, i havent really heard of someone hitting a redfish with a boat prop but hell who know anything can happen

Definately aukward on the scars, but they all eat the same right? Glad to hear you got into them good the little bit of time you had to fish. Id be leaving a little earlier fron now on just in case :doh. Nice mess of fish :clap

those scars come from porpoise thats there main diet inshore mullet and redfish.
