Default NAS Pensacola Report

I fished the Charlie Pier as usual last night and decided to also do a little fishing behind 3851 (Dont want to tell common name of the place so i'll just put building number and most should be able to figure it out, heres a hint it starts with a P) as well. My friend Nick tagged along with me and I promised I would get him some nice fish and indeed I did. Nick was able to catch his first red snapper and grouper. The red snapper he caught would have been a keeper if it had been in season, the grouper however made the cut at 23 inches. As for me I caught an undersize grouper, a 28 inch redfish and a few bluefish. There was the biggest school of finger mullet that I have ever seen in my life behind 3851 getting run up against the wall by bluefish. All fish were caught on cut ladyfish on the bottom except for a few of the bluefish which were caught on bubble rigs. The picture of the grouper below has me holding it instead of Nick because I cant upload the picture I took of him with my phone for some reason (The picture looks just plain weird to me because I dont have my official hat on and my face is red as a cherry from getting blasted by cold wind for 6 hours)

Nice grouper. I made it out there for the first time Friday night. It was nicer than I thought it was going to be. Wish the wind wasn't so bad though. Didn't stay too long, had the wife and kids with me.. Ended up catching alot of garbage fish and a small grouper ( really nice looking fish, had bright yellow spots). Wind and cold was just too much for the familia.
