Default more sheepies..

fished after work today for a few hours. hard incoming tide. ended up keeping 8 sheepies and a black drum. threw back 4 that were between 12 - 14in cause i didnt want to fool with cleaning em.. ended up keeping 2 that were just over 20in and the rest were around 16+/-. not bad for fishing out of a canoe!! if we would have got every one we hooked in the boat we would have limited out easily. those jokers are hard to keep on the hook. heres a pic of my half of the fish.

Well, I have to ask: out of a canoe? Where were you fishing? I have a kayak (anda boat), a very stable kayak, but would not think of fishing from a canoe in a fast moving tide. Canoes are too tippable.

Anyway, sounds like great fun. Were you at a bridge?

yea heres a pic of my canoe on the back of my truck. we were fishing around piers and boat docks in orange beach.. the current was pretty swift but weve fished in worse current and waves so we are pretty comfortable. i would never do it alone though

forgot to say that the last hour of the day was ON FIRE!! every cast was a bite. sometimes it wouldnt even hit the bottom before it got hit.

maybe because the sun was setting and they couldnt see the line as good or something. but we were gettin bites even away from structure. in fact we were throwing away from the structure to try to conserve bait.

every time weve went this year the bite has really picked up just before dark. just figured id pass that info along
