Default Lots of Specks

(For CCC and others)I parked at the Dairy Queen by I-10 and walked around the back of the building down to the water. There's some rock and oyster structure that I like to fish on a moving tide. I got to the water around 12:30 this afternoon with live shrimp. Rigged up and first cast...BAM!!! I brought in a nice little speck. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, casts...the same result. The tide was flowing across the point, and I was simply drifting the bait from the point over the dropoff into deeper water. The specks are in full on feed mode. I ended up leaving around 3:30 after using 5 dozen shrimp. I got a bite on every single bait with very few misses. I did catch 3 rat reds, and 4 needlefish. The specks were mostly 14-17" with a few shorter and a few larger. All fish were released, and I couldn't be happier. It was a beautiful, and I had a great time. This is a prime example of why this is my favorite time of the year to fish. Tight Lines.
