Default Jan. 27th reds

Too nice of a day (Sunday) to not go fishing. Was able to talk my wife into going for a couple of hours if we brought the dog......sold.

Started fishing the deepest docks I could find (about4'-6') dark, dark water. Have never tried the area and had no idea what to expect. Fished about 45 minutes with no bites, and could see the bordum in my wife's eyes. "come on" I whispered to myself. Then.....I lifted the jig to find no weight of the jig......reeled two quick turns and jacked him up. Stayed on bottom, I knew it, stoked, 18"-20" redfish. I love finding new areas.

Fished another 10minutes and hooked a little trout (about 15") and lost it right next to the boat.

10 more minutes go by.....good fish on, staying on bottom, "sweet, not a trout" (not that trout are bad, but I'm signed up for that redfish club tournament and I'm really looking for some new areas) Taking my time working the fish...and then...............nothing. Son...Of....A....B...

10 more minutes, another bite, and miss.....I must have not been holding my mouth right.

Laurie still hadn't caught anything, so I decided to pack it up before it became miserable for her.

Picture is coming tonight or tomorrow (Jan 30th). I haven't been able to find the cord to my camera.

try all the deep docks in rocky bayou and garnier bayou, when I used to go fishing in the boat during the winter in the bay we used to have 10-15 redfish days sometimes, looks like youre fishing joes bayou, that is also a productive spot
