Lesson Learned:No matter how big you are, don?t bite off more than you can chew!!!!

this is my dads friend...I was fishing the same area he was a few weeks ago. i guess my problem was that I was using the right size mullet. thats a 3-4 pound mullet (eta)

NOW THAT I FOUND OUT ITS NOT MY DAD FRIEND.....WOW WHAT A TROUT!

I learned that those monster momma trout like to gnosh on huge mullet because they're so oily. The oil the trout ingests by eating big mullet make their eggs more buoyanttherefore increasing the chance of a successful spawn.

It's common to find large trout like that belly up chocked with a bite bigger than they can chew. I've also seen flounder suffocated in the same manor. When swallowed head first, the thick and wide scales of the mullet secure them in the fishes throat making regurgitation impossible. If you ever find one like this try and pull the mullet out and you'll see what I mean.

Best,

:banghead Nice try. First read that it was floating dead when Ala. FWC scooped it from the water.
