Default Hot Speck bit!

Went out this morning with my dad and uncle(haven't had him on the boat in forever). We had about 8 dozen fiddlers for an all day sheep marathon but...no luck, very slow bite. So we decided to try something else, we ran to the I-10 Bridge and started pitching jerkshads around the pillings, started catching a lot of white trout, and then worked the edge of the school and started producing some nice specks all around 17-19". Not sure how many we caught but I landed 5, with pops and my uncle catching about the same ammount. Only lasted about 15 min. though, a pretty nasty storm started rolling in over the bay with some lightning so we had to make a run for it. Awesome bite though! All catch and release due to the PCB count in Escambia....thats a damn shame. Still have the fiddlers and nothing to do tomorrow, so.......gonna do the same thing! gotta love living here, even if the fish are radioactive.

I was out there that morning too. I think I saw you at the launch outrunning the storms. (I was in the small whaler). I also got into some nice trout. I was fishing next to the channel on the long trestle. I caught two 20" plus trout on the same lure at the same time. I was reeling in the first one and a school of trout followed it. The second larger trout hit the lure as well and I landed both of them. I then caught about 5 more in the 15-19" range. I was using a gold mirrolure.
