Default a great night

about 2 and a half years ago me and my best friend got into a fight and stopped talking. It wasn't a serious fight, just a little argument and neither one of us were willing to apologize. This was my main fishing partner ever since we were little, skipping school and fishing for days and days at pickens, traveling to carrabelle, fort morgan, etc. Fishing was all we did all the time, and we let a little argument get between us. Well anyways I was out riding around earlier and thought hell its about time to man up, stop by and see him and work things out. I'd since lost his number though so I went ahead and drove upto cantonment to stop by his house, he wasn't home, but I talked to his wife and daughter for about an hour and then left my number hoping that he was ready to work things out. Well no sooner did I pull out of their neighborhood he called me and told me to head down to navy point and they'd turn around and come pick me up and we would head back out. So i met him there and off we went, fished for a few hours, talked about life, talked about all the great times we had when we were younger. well to the report part of this story...drifted for about 20 minutes and hooked up a really nice shark, fish was ripping line off so we cleared lines and went to give chase with only about 100yds of line left on the spool, the motor wouldn't start so i tightened down on the drag to try and slow the fish, well the cable came apart and we lost the fish after about 5 minutes of being hooked up. we fought the motor for about 2 hours until we realized a fuel line was kinked :banghead decided to just head back in. great time with a old friend, only hooked up one shark and lost him, but I wouldn't of traded it for anything

Nice... Where was this?....we hooked into a huge Jack at 44" by the 3mb. last night. It took off like a torpedo..chase them around for a few mnts till we put the brakes and brought it in. Were were using wire leaders as well and thought of a shark at first....caught another one trolling a stretcher too..they are out there chasing the ladies...

This is the best fishing report I have heard in a long time. Thanks for sharing it, good fishing partners are hard to come by.

Fishing can solve all problems between friends. I had a similar argument with a army buddy and we lost many years because of it, we can never get those years back. Now I try to man up when times like those arise. Great story.
