Default Got Bait And A Big Ugly

Cast netted about a hundred pounds of pogies this morning in three throws, along with Mr. Wormy. He must've been eatin' em (or trying to) but was mighty poor. He went back in the drink.

I ground about twenty five pounds, bagged and froze the rest whole for bottom bait.

Wow, the one I use now is a big #32 I got off ebay years ago that had a pulley on it. I bolted it on a stainless steel table and hooked it up to a 1 HP Craftsman lathe motor with a belt. I can feed whole pogies and good sized mullet heads and it will eat em like pac man. If you grind much chum, you need a motorized grinder and it's got to have some giddyup to grind scales, bones and heads. I would recommend at least a 3/4 horse unless you're gonna dehead all those pogies first.

The one's I've seen are traveling in deeper water right now. Here today, who knows where tommorow. On these I happened to see one pelican dive in twenty feet of water, ran to him and saw em on my bottom machine. They weren't flipping. Sharks are in em pretty thick too. I wouldn't throw a prize net at em.
