Default Garcon Bridge 3-8-09

Hit the bridge today. Launched at Bal Alex. Boy do they need to dredge that ramp! Started fishing at the #15 piling. Go to around the #35 and dropped a few live shrimp. About 5 minutes in my brother landed a huge black drum. Nothing else hit there so we headed towards the channel and threw down some fresh dead shrimp. Wound up taking home 10 white trout from there. It was a good day asides from the pricks that saw us fishing near the 35 and decided they would come over and anchor up right in front of us. They climbed up on the piling and got the attention of the game warden, so now I had two assholes in the way. Other than that, it was a good day on the water.

Sounds like a very good day to me. I went out to 3 Mile Bridge and caught 6 white trout and then it just turned off. Everyone around said the same thing, it just turn off.

Protects me from what? Catching too many fish? The games wardens were nice, I just don't like having two boats pull up on me when there's a whole damn bridge to fish. We had just landed the black drum, then we had to move shortly after because we couldn't cast to the pilings anymore.

I was just north of you. saw them checking boats. They were no problem...just doing their check. Glad you got the drum. I sucumed to going for shrimp...and back out on the water....landed a 29" RED and some white trout. The wind was CRAZY blowing... But a great day on the water.

Yeah that wind kind of sucked. That's why I just stayed anchored between the pilings. It kept some of the wave action off my little 14' kennedy craft. With an 18 horse, trolling motor and battery, and my brother and I's big asses on there, it sits a little low to the water. That bridge has always produced, every time I hit it. You're pretty much guaranteed to go home with at least a few white trout.

I was at three mile on Sunday with similar results - 15 white trout. I had better luck with a gulp on a jig head than anything else. I was hoping to catch a red or two or somthing besides white trout soIput out a mullet head, cigar minnow, live pinfish, and squid and not one bite on any of it.
