Default Friday Night 10.02.09 3 Mile Bridge

I took my dad out to 3 mile Friday night. We arrived at 17th just before dark, and headed out into a very calm bay. We set up shop and started fishing as the lights were turning on. The moon was bright and it was a nice night. We started tossing gulp and immediately started catching white trout. We took a smaller one, hooked him up on Dad's 706, and tossed him out. It didn't take long before something snatched it up and took off.Line peeled off the reel for about 30 seconds and then nothing. Dad reeled inthe decapitated head of a white trout. Meanwhile we are both still catching trout after trout.Sincethere was obvious interest in the live bait,Dad tossed another trout out.I joined in as well and tossed a trout out on my Diawa 7000C.I freelined it using an 18 inch wire leader and asize 7 circle hook. Next Dad had another screaming drag run, and again the fish spit the bait. :booNext it was my turn,I had my drag set pretty loose, and in the course of35 seconds or so, about half my line is off the spool. I tightened my drag up a bit, and the fish makes another good little run. Then I feel a slight jerk, and slack line :banghead :banghead I reel in some very frayed 30 lb test sans leader and hook...tail slap?????The wind has picked up a bit by now, and the bay is getting a little bumpy. We are still catching fish, andDad had at leat two more chances on the 706 and missed them both :reallycrying :reallycrying I manage to land a pesky, gulp shredding ribbon fish, so I decided to let it be bait. I added another 18 inch Leader and another size 7 circle hook since that thing was like 20 inches long and senthim on his way. not too long afterbam I'm bowed up again. I manage to setone of the hooks and tighten the drag just a bit. Here is a pic of the 40 inch or so black tip.

Sorry about the crappy picture all i had was my cell phone, andDad is definately not a photographer. Anyhow, we released the shark. It slowed down a good bit after that and we left about an hour later. we kept around 30 or so white trout and had a pretty good time.

Good luck and good fishing,

Glastronix
